Events
- The Innocence Network UK (INUK) Annual Spring Conference, Investigating a Claim of Innocence: Going Beyond a Desktop Review will take place on the 25th March 2011. The conference is organised by Dr Michael Naughton, School of Law and School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies (SPAIS), and Gabe Tan, School of Law, University of Bristol. Amongst those speaking will be Mark Allum and Ryan Jendoubi, of the University of Bristol Innocence Project (UoBIP). The event will be hosted for the second year by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, London. It will be held at their London Office: City Place House 55 Basinghall Street London EC2V 5EH. Any University of Bristol member of staff or student, undergraduate or postgraduate, can attend the conference for the member rates. Full details, including the programme and booking form.
- Dr Michael Naughton & Gabe Tan of the University of Bristol Innocence Project and the Innocent Network UK (INUK) will be amongst those speaking at an open meeting at the House of Commons, sponsored by John McDonnell MP, on the topic of 'Is the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) Fit For Purpose?' on Tuesday 30 November 2010, 18:30 - 20:30.
- Dr. Michael Naughton & Gabe Tan of the University of Bristol Innocence Project (UoBIP )and Innocence Network UK(INUK) will be speaking about the hurdles facing prisoners maintaining innocence in their quest for release at the Progressing Prisoners Maintaining Innocence (PPMI) Public Meeting, to be held at 3.00 - 5.30pm in the hall of St Mellitus Church, Tollington Park, London N4 3AG on Sunday 7 November 2010. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Kimmett Edgar, Head of Research, at the Prison Reform Trust.
