Claudia Domenici has a BA in Modern Languages (English and Spanish) from the University of Pisa,( Italy), and a MA in Language Studies, (specializing in Translation Studies) from the University of Lancaster.

In the last two decades Claudia has been working as language tutor first, and then as language co-ordinator (until 2011) in a number of British universities including Cardiff, Lancaster, and Bristol, developing and teaching language programmes and material at all levels of the degree in Modern Languages, including the organization, implementation, language development and assessment of the Year Abroad.

Areas of responsibility

At Departmental level, Claudia currently teaches all aspects of language of Year 1, the Year 1 ‘Project II’ unit, and looks after the preparation and implementation of the Year Abroad.

At School level, Claudia co-ordinates and teaches the Year 2 unit ‘Reading the Media’, co-teaches the Year 4 School unit ‘Translating in a Professional Context’, is involved in the delivery of the School MA in Translation, and oversees the delivery of the advanced language unit of the School MA in Modern Languages.

Interests

Her main interests are language teaching and methodology, translation studies and Italian current affairs (especially politics).
