New status page service for IT services

[08 September 2016]

From 15th September, IT Services will be using a new IT service status service provided by  This will replace the existing service available on the IT Service website.

The new service provides:

  • An overview of individual service status (with the ability to add automated monitoring)
  • The ability to add details of incidents on the status page
  • The ability to record planned maintenance, and for that to automatically change the status of services affected by that work at the correct time.
  • The ability to push that information to the IT twitter feed (@BristolUniIT) and the IT Services Facebook page and to populate calendars using a webcal feed.

The IT status page will be available via the existing links to the status page or directly by visiting  The status page will also be accessible via the University portal, MyBristol.

Status Updates

The status page will show at the top if a current incident or planned maintenance is affecting services and show the status of a service.

Details of incidents and planned maintenance

At the bottom of the status page, details of all incidents and planned maintenance will be visible.
