[09 December 2015]

In November the University approved the business case for BlueCrystal Phase 4. This will be a 3M investment that will give Bristol access to one of the fastest High Performance Computing systems in the UK.This is a significant investment by the University which will increase the capacity and capability of the University’s HPC Facility to ensure that it remains world-class and can continue to provide a stable state-of-the-art platform to underpin the applied computational research within the University.

The procurement exercise will begin in early in 2016 with the aim to bring Phase 4 of BlueCrystal into service in December 2016. The service will be hosted in the new offsite data centre which is also under development by IT Services.
