Files

[14 April 2014]

The University creates and manages a huge amount of digital information vital to the day-to-day work of the organisation, as well as providing a record of decisions and actions needed for accountability and legal compliance.

All staff have an individual responsibility for safely managing the information they create and hold within the University.

Online tutorial

The InfoSafe online tutorial aims to:

  • provide some simple guidelines for managing digital information.
  • point you to existing guidance and information provided by the University on managing your digital information safely
  • help you to make decisions about how to manage and store particular types of digital information

To use the tutorial please visit: www.bris.ac.uk/staffdevelopment/infosafe-tutorial/

Whilst the tutorial is suitable for all staff in the University, it does not specifically cover research data. Take a look at the University’s Research Data Service for additional help and advice on managing research data.

Android phone App

There is a companion DataSafe App available (for Android phones only). This contains supporting information about managing data within the University. The app is available for download and installation.  For more information about the app take a look at the DataSafe site.
