Emergency electrical maintenance affecting IT and network access, 7.30-9.00am 20 Sept

Emergency electrical maintenance will take place tomorrow morning requiring a power outage affecting the Social Sciences Complex. The removal of power will have a knock-on effect to access to servers and the network for parts of the University.

It is anticipated that the work will take place between 7.30-9.00am on 20 September.

Local servers

To protect IT services a number of servers used by Arts and Social Sciences , Economics, the Graduate School for Education, Careers and Deaf Studies will be taken down at the end of today and brought back after the electrical maintenance work is completed at 9.00am. 

Please note that the local Zonal Team will communicate this disruption to those affected.

Impact on the network

The power outage between 7.30-9.00am on 20 September will disable network access for the following locations:

  • Priory Road
  • Woodland Road (from Hawthorns to Tyndall's Park Rd)
  • Tyndall Park Road
  • 26/27 St Michael's Park
  • Howard House
  • Hawthorns
