Using the web checklist

You will need to use a web browser to search for information on the University website and external websites.

Read the following statements and follow the action list below if you can't answer yes to all the questions.

Can you..

  • Use a web browser (eg, Internet Explorer) to view a website and follow links?
  • Use a search engine (eg, Google or Yahoo!) to find information on the World Wide Web?
  • Type URLs (addresses of websites)?

If you can't answer yes to all of the above:

You need to improve your web skills:

Your Subject Librarian can help you get started finding information on the web. Many offer introductory courses to new students. For further details ask in your department or see the Library Services subject resource pages.
