The pilot phase of the Calendar project finished in December 2003. During 2003 a number of groups of staff were registered as Calendar users - those users helped to evaluate the software
Starting in Summer 2004 a more extensive rollout of the service commenced. Training courses are ready and staff will be enrolled as Calendar users in accordance with the rollout plan which is being developed for the Calendar Project Board. If you are not already a user you will, in time, be given an account and trained along with your colleagues. Eventually all staff will get a Calendar account in the same way that they get an e-mail account. Some clients, in particular older linux clients, cannot find the server when setting up a new connection. When the server name is entered and the 'Lookup' button is pressed the message 'This server could not be reached' is returned.
The solution is to add the required port number to the server name thus:The first time you use Oracle Calendar, you must change the password you were originally assigned. It is suggested you use the same password that you use for other services such as electronic mail.
The In-tray lists entries in your agenda that may require action. You cannot create entries here
You can return to the In-tray using the Open In-tray icon
When a Calendar user invites you to a meeting the In-tray will list any changes. There is a folder icon to the left of each group of agenda entries listed. If the folder icon is "open" you will see a list of any entries in that group.
