Standard Jobs is a part of Oracle Applications, complimenting other applications such as PIMS, CARB, Admissions, etc.
Standard Jobs provides the user with many predefined, parameter-driven reports written for particular applications. These include reports in Adobe PDF format which can be viewed on screen and printed locally, and the generation of CSV files which can be emailed to the user. Other jobs may update the application's database directly, though such jobs are restricted to just a few specialist users. The jobs listed for a particular user in Standard Jobs will depend on what Oracle Applications the user has been given access to, and what level of access.
Standard Jobs is not generally available on its own, rather as an accompaniment to other applications. It is automatically provided when you are granted access to PIMS, CARB, etc.
Open Internet Explorer or Firefox (requires Java Runtime Environment) and go to the Oracle Applications launch page.
Follow the link to web-enabled Oracle Applications. Log in using your own Oracle username and password. The database name is 'prod'.
From the Oracle Applications Main Menu, select Standard Jobs (Reports). You should see a list of all the standard reports to which you have access.
If you do not have an Oracle username and password and you require access to the reports for a particular application, please email the appropriate contact (see below) to request access. This also applies if you already have Oracle access to one application and want access extended to include another (eg if you have CARB and now also want PIMS).
For access to PIMS contact the personnel office (personnel-office@bristol.ac.uk).
For access to CARB contact Sue Somerset.
For access to SITS contact the Student Systems and Information Office (ssio-systems@rtis.bris.ac.uk).
There is no training specifically for Standard Jobs on its own, though it should be covered under training for individual Oracle Applications such as PIMS.
There is no documentation available for this application other than what is provided for Standard Jobs accompanying applications.
See under the individual Oracle Applications (e.g. PIMS).
