Symbian (Nokia)

  1. Go to your phone's main menu and click on Messaging.

  2. Press Options and choose Settings.

  3. Click on Email. Press Options and choose New mailbox.

  4. Press Start. Select IMAP4 and press Next.

  5. Enter your University email address. Press Next.

  6. Incoming mail serv:
    • Staff and research postgraduates enter: staff-imap-srv.bristol.ac.uk
    • Undergraduates and taught postgraduates enter: student-imap-srv.bristol.ac.uk
    • Press Next.

  7. Enter smtp-auth.bristol.ac.uk for Outgoing mail serv. Press Next.

  8. For Access point in use choose Always ask. Press Next.

  9. For Mailbox name enter: UoB Email. Press Finish.

  10. Select the mailbox you just created (UoB Email) and press Options then click Edit.

  11. Go to Connection settings, then Incoming email.

  12. Enter your University User name and Password. Set Security (ports) to SSL/TLS. Press Back. (See: Guidance on saving your UoB password on mobile devices.)

  13. Click on Outgoing email. Enter your University User name and Password. Set Security (ports) to SSL/TLS. Press Back.

  14. Click on User settings. Enter your name in the My name box. Press Back.

  15. To view your email, return to Messaging, open the UoB Email mailbox, and press Options then Connect. If you see a message about an untrusted certificate, choose Continue.
