Nokia N810

  1. Click the Applications icon on the left side of the screen and select Communications then Email.
  2. If you get the message No email account defined... click OK. Otherwise, click the title bar of the Email program and select Accounts then New account...

  3. You will be shown a welcome screen. Click Next.
  4. Enter a name for your email account (eg. UOB Email) and select Accout type: IMAP4. Click Next.

  5. Enter your name, University username, password, and email address. Click Next. (See: Guidance on saving your UoB password on mobile devices.)

  6. Enter staff-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk as the Incoming server (IMAP4) if you are a member of staff or research postgraduate. Enter student-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk if you are an undergraduate or taught postgraduate. Enter smtp-auth.bris.ac.uk as the Outgoing server (SMTP). Click Next.

  7. Click Advanced. Select the Incoming tab. Change Security to Normal (TLS).

  8. Select the Outgoing tab. Change SMTP authentication to Login, Security to Normal (TLS), and Outgoing email port to 587. Click OK and then Finish.

  9. Your device is now setup to use UoB email. To read your mail in future, select Applications, Communication, and click on Email.
