Blackberry
To use UoB email on your Blackberry phone you must install a free email program called
LogicMail. These instructions guide you through installing and configuring LogicMail.
- Select Applications from the main screen then open Browser.


- Press the Menu
key, select Go To..., and enter this URL: http://logicmail.org/ota

- Select the latest version (currently 1.0.1 for OS v4.1 or Higher) and choose Download.



- When installation is complete, choose Run.

- Press the Menu button and select Configuration.

- Click Outgoing servers and select Add outgoing server.

Change the following settings:
- Account name: UOB Email
- Server: smtp-auth.bris.ac.uk
- Tick the SSL box.
- Authentication: LOGIN.
- Enter your University username and password.
- Untick the Use MDS proxy box.
- Click Save and then Save again.

- On the Configuration screen, select Accounts then Add account.

- Select IMAP.

Change the following settings:
- Account name:
UOB Email
- Incoming server:
staff-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk (staff and research postgraduates) or student-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk (undergraduates and taught postgraduates)
- Tick the SSL box.
- Enter your University username and password. (See: Guidance on saving your UoB password on mobile devices.)
- Untick the Use MDS proxy box.
- Outgoing server: UOB Email (SMTP).

- Click Save and then Save again.

- Open Global settings, click Edit, and change WiFi mode to Prompt.


- Click Save and then Save again.
- Press the Back key to return to the main LogicMail screen. Click UOB Email and choose Select.

- Your BlackBerry will ask for permission to use WiFi and connect to the mail server. Say Yes to both.


- The first time you connect you will see a message about the server's certificate. Choose Trust certificate, enter your Key Store password, and click OK.


- Your device is now setup to use UoB email. To read your mail in future, select Applications, LogicMail, and click on UOB Email.
