Downloading and installing the SyncML client
Please note that SyncML is available on a 30 day free trial, but that it will need to be purchased to be able to use it after the trial period has expired.
To select the correct client:

- Open 'Internet Explorer' on your device and navigate to:
http://www.synthesis.ch/download.php?lang=e&lay=desk&bp=CPDA&pv=PPCWM&entry=1 - Scroll down to the 'Downloads' section and click on the download link for the 'STD' .CAB file (approx. 495 KB).
- Scroll down to read the software's license and tick the box to accept its terms, then click 'Download Now'.
- On the 'Download' dialogue that opens tick 'Open file after download' and click 'Yes'.
- If you are asked 'Do you want to continue?', select 'Yes' and SyncML will install itself.
Synchronising SyncML with Calendar
To start the synchronisation process:

- When the program has finished installing, click 'Start' followed by 'Programs' then 'Synthesis SyncML'.
- Click the 'Extras' option at the bottom of the screen followed by 'Settings...'
To set the correct synchronisation settings:

| Username / Password | Your normal UoB Username and your Calendar Password. This may be different from your UoB password. |
- Click the 'General' tab at the bottom of the screen and enter the settings exactly as shown in the 'General tab table' above.
- Click the 'Organizer' tab at the bottom of the screen and enter the settings exactly as shown in the 'Organizer tab table' below.

To select the types of data you want to synchronise with Oracle Calendar:

- Click the 'Synthesis SyncML icon' on the bottom-left of the screen.
- Tick 'Events' (and 'Tasks' also if you use this functionality within Calendar).
