Oracle suggests using Synthesis SyncML clients, which are available from the Synthesis website. You should use the settings in the table below.
| Setting option | Setting to enter |
|---|---|
| Mobile Data Sync host address | https://calendar.bris.ac.uk:443/ocst-bin/ocas.fcgi |
| Username / Password | Your normal UoB Username and Calendar Password. This may be different from your UoB password. |
Please note: it is useful to read both the 'Review Device Limitations' and 'Read additional information' sections as these explain any quirks or 'gotchas' that might cause problems when synchronising with Calendar.
There are constraints with settings for viewing rights when using PDAs. There are only two settings, 'Normal' (or 'Not Private') and 'Private'. The following table shows how the normal viewing rights settings relate to Palm and Pocket PC viewing rights.
| Calendar | Palm | Pocket PC | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Not Private | Normal | Use for all work-related entries |
| Confidential | N/A | N/A | (Confidential entries synchronise to 'Private' in Palm and Pocket PC) |
| Personal | Private | Private | Use for personal entries outside of working hours |
| Public | N/A | N/A | (Public entries synchronise to 'Not Private' in Palm and 'Normal' in Pocket PC) |
