    • SyncML Version: SyncML 1.1

    • Ignore SSL Errors: Off
    • Enter your Calendar username and password as usual. These may be different from your normal UOB credentials.
  6. Go back to the Settings screen and this time choose Calendar. Set the following settings:
    • Sync Mode: Normal Sync
    • Server Path: ./Calendar/Events
    • In order to make this application sync properly, you will need to enable the Limit switch. You will also need to pick a range of days to sync. Be aware that syncing more days may take longer - especially if you are using your iPhone's 3G connection. It may be sensible to set a date range limit of, for example, 30 days in the past and 90 days in the future. To do this, simply enter the number of days you want, but don't forget to the set Limit switch to On.

  • Go back to the Settings Menu (as shown in step 2)
  • Flip the Contacts switch to turn it On
  • Go into the settings for Contacts. Set the following settings:
    • Sync Mode: Normal Sync
    • Server Path: ./Contacts

  • Tap Settings to go back and then tap Done.
  • Tap Start Synchronisation and it will synchronise your Calendar and Contact entries
  • Contacts will be added directly to your iPhone's contact directory

Notes

This is the best solution we've found as it does over the air syncing. It is irritating however that it only does it to a third-party calendar app. This is because Apple haven't released APIs to allow third-party apps access to calendar data.

A variety of other options are available, but all have significant problems (eg require a jailbroken iPhone, only sync one way, and/or require several intermediary steps). For these reasons we recommend using the method described above, but if you want to try other options this information from the University of Illinois may be helpful.
