Reporting problems

If you are having problems using the off-site proxy, please first refer to our list of software with known problems. If you are running Internet Explorer, please check whether you are running a supported version. See below for how to identify the version number of Internet Explorer.

Now check the Information Services News pages to determine if the system has been switched off for scheduled maintenance, or if there are any known problems at present.

If - having checked those two pages - you are still experiencing difficulties, please email service-desk@bristol.ac.uk with a description of the problem and the following information:

We can use this information to check to see if your browser is configured correctly and identify what might be causing your problem.

Identifying the browser version

Part of your browser's version number is displayed at http://wwwcache.bris.ac.uk/cgi-bin/detail; however, this may not be enough information.

For Firefox, choose Help, About Mozilla Firefox.

For Internet Explorer, choose the About Internet Explorer option on the Help menu. (In Internet Explorer 7, press the Alt key to make the Help menu appear).

Please note: that we need the complete version number - just "IE 6" is not enough.
