UoB VPN - Connecting from off campus
University's virtual private network provides secure access to University network resources from offsite. Depending on your requirements other forms of offsite access are also available, which are often easier to set up and use.

- Bandwidth available though the current VPN service may be less than your direct Internet connection: When connected to the VPN you may find that iPlayer / video streaming / large file transfers etc are slower than normal.
- The VPN should not be relied upon for essential work if you are going to be connecting from a new location. This is because some ISPs block the VPN, so if you have not tested it, don't rely on it!
