From academic year 2012/13 ResNet's Standard connection is included in your accommodation fee. If you feel that our generous weekly usage allowance isn't quite enough then you can upgrade for a small fee.
ResNet offers two packages:
ResNet Standard is suitable for email, web access, academic research, and YouTube clips.
ResNet Max has a bigger usage allowance for people who want to transfer large amounts (e.g. heavy users of BBC iPlayer).

Usage allowances
The week's data transfer is calculated from Monday to Sunday. For more information on the included usage allowances see the fair usage policy
Speed
Wired ResNet gives you 55Mbps symmetric, that's 55Mbps Download and 55Mbps Upload, which is faster access than BT Infinity Broadband (which gives you 40Mbps download speed, and 10Mbps upload).
For Wireless ResNet it's a little harder to give speeds as there are so many factors that can slow things down. That said, under the right conditions you should get the same as wired ResNet.
ResNet Wireless
ResNet Wireless is available in most residences. It provides wireless Internet in study bedrooms and kitchens, in addition to the wired ResNet sockets in bedrooms. Wireless ResNet is included free of charge with your ResNet subscription. ResNet Wireless is currently available in about 80% of residences, and coverage is extended each year.
