Implementation

  • Gmail is now available to all current undergraduate and postgraduate taught students.
  • All staff and postgraduate research students will be migrated to Google in April 2013. This will happen in two stages, the first will be the introduction of Gmail and other Google Applications such as Google Drive.  This will be done over the Easter weekend ready for the return of staff on Wednesday 3 April.  The introduction of Google calendar will take place on Monday 15 April.

15 April 2013 Google Calendar go live / Oracle Calendar will be read only.
3 April 2013, 9am Staff return after Easter vacation to access Gmail with their emails migrated from central email servers
28 March 2013, 9pm Old email service read only and new emails go to Gmail
February 2013 Pilot C: School of Veterinary Sciences, Langford (as an academic pilot) email accounts and shared mailboxes migrated to Gmail
January 2013 Pilot B: HR (as a support service pilot) email accounts and shared mailboxes migrated to Gmail
November 2012 Pilot A: IT Services email accounts and shared mailboxes migrated to Gmail

18 June  to 31 August 2012 Creation of remaining UGs' email accounts to Google 'email for life' accounts (@my.bristol.ac.uk)
31 May to 31 August 2012 Creation of taught PGs' Google accounts for life (@my.bristol.ac.uk)
24 May to 30 June 2012 Creation of final year UGs' Google accounts for life (@my.bristol.ac.uk)
