*** The Online Payments systems will not be available until approximately 09:00 on Wednesday 10 February. This is due to an unexpected work overun *** To increase the security of Internet transactions, including online payments through the University of Bristol website, University of Bristol and its third party suppliers are introducing 3-D Secure.
All of the University of Bristol online payments systems* will be unavailable during some of the 8th and 9th February to allow 3-D Secure to be installed. During this period, print credits can be purchased from either the Help Desk or the Library issue desk.
3-D Secure, which is also known as 'Verified by Visa' or 'Mastercard SecureCode', is the online equivalent of entering your PIN when withdrawing cash from an ATM or making a purchase from a shop using a 'chip & PIN' terminal. Depending on the card you have chosen to use and the retailer from whom you are purchasing, when you click 'Submit Payment' you may be asked by your card issuer for a password.
