Bristol Access Number (BAN)

Outside of office hours some rooms can be accessed using the Bristol Access Number (BAN) which is changed monthly. Once you have entered this number in the keypad outside (pressing the keys slowly and firmly), the door automatically unlocks and re-locks itself after entry.

The current number can be obtained from the Bristol Access Number web form (by entering your UOB account details).

Please note: accounts for general computing facilities are automatically set up for all members of the University, including all staff, undergraduates, postgraduates, visitors with entries in the Personnel database, and Continuing Education students studying at a rate of more than a total of 60 credits. Otherwise the porters for the Computer Centre or the IT help desk can tell you the current number on production of some identification (student card, etc). Outside of portered hours, the Security Lodge may be able to tell you the number.
