PCs in University computer rooms give access to email, the Internet, a range of software packages, and catalogues and databases for all subject areas. All open access PCs managed by Information Services run Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2007.
The Computer Centre is home to the 24 hour computer room, the IT help desk, most IS computing staff, and some training rooms. The Computer Centre is a red brick building on Tyndall Avenue between the Sports Centre and the Arts and Social Sciences Library. Computer Centre postal address.
Please refer to the Computing policies and guidelines before using University computing facilities.
Authentication is in place in all of these rooms. See authentication in areas with shared access PCs. The authentication in most rooms require a UOB username and password. See the 'how do I get a UOB domain password?' information.
Some rooms require registration with the department concerned. If you are not registered, you will not have access to any software.
