Press Menu and select Messaging.
Select Email then Settings.
Select New account and press Add.
For Account name enter: UoB Email. Press OK.
Select Email address. Enter your University email address and press OK.
Open the Connect using menu. Select your provider's GPRS Internet connection.
Set Connection type to IMAP4.
Incoming server:
- Staff and research postgraduates enter: staff-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk
- Undergraduates and taught postgraduates enter: student-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk
- Press OK.
Select Username. Enter your University username. Press OK.
Select Password. Enter your University password. Press OK. (See: Guidance on saving your UoB password on mobile devices.)
Set Download S&R to Subjects only.
For Outgoing server enter: smtp-auth.bris.ac.uk Press OK.
Open Advanced settings.
Select Your name, enter your name, and press OK.
Click Encryption. Set Incoming server to SSL. Set Outgoing server to TLS. Press Back to return to Advanced settings.
Select Outgoing username. Enter your University username. Press OK.
Select Outgoing password. Enter your University password. Press OK.
Set Incoming port to 993. Press OK.
Set Outgoing port to 587. Press OK.
Press the back button twice to return to the main Email Settings page and make sure that your new UoB Email account is selected.
Return to the Messaging menu, select Email, and click on Inbox.
Press Send & Receive.
If you receive a message saying that the Website is not certified with the Secure Connection, select Yes.
If you are asked whether to turn on Push email, select Yes.
Your device is now setup to use UoB email. To read your mail in future, select Messaging, Email, then Inbox.
