Epigenetic Epidemiology Workshop Miami
11 July 2016
A workshop held at the 2016 Congress of the Americas conference.
A motivated group of 50 academics from around the world had the oportunity to engage in the topics discussed by Matt Suderman, Riccardo Marioni and Andrew Simpkin at this years Congress of the Americas.
- Introduction to epigenomics
- Epigenome Wide Association Studies (EWAS)
- Beyond EWAS: proxies, mediation, causality
A popular interactive workshop covering relevance of epigenetics to human health; design, execution and interpretation of population-based epigenetic studies, measurement technologies and statistical analyses. Interpretation covered techniques for uncovering the biological relevance of findings, including utilisation of other molecular profiles such as gene expression.
Feedback was captured from the attendees using Turning Point clickers throughout the workshop with very positive results. Attendees engaged with the speakers throughout the workshop with many attendees discussing their own epigenetic or social and behavioural modelling studies and discussed plans for future collaborations.
