Relevant Experience, Skills and Knowledge



Considerable practice experience as a social worker working with children and families

Experience in teaching and/or training in an evidence-based approach to child care policy and practice

Research skills and relevant experience of child welfare research

An ability to raise and successfully manage multiple research grants

Good administrative and management skills

Competence in using computers and other information technology


Relevant Qualifications



A good first degree in a relevant subject

A social work qualification

A record of recent publications in peer-reviewed journals or comparable outlets

A masters or PhD in a relevant subject

Communication and Interpersonal Skills



Strong teaching and student support skills



Additional Criteria



An ability to work independently


An interest in the broader context of public policy and welfare and therefore able to make a contribution to the inter-disciplinary work of the school
