New e-recruitment system

Following a procurement exercise before Christmas the University has selected a new e-recruitment system (TalentLink) to replace BORIS and provide significantly improved functionality covering the whole recruitment and selection process. The new system will, amongst other things, enable the following enhancements to the recruitment process:

  • Candidates able to register their details, apply for individual jobs or join candidate pools, track their applications, receive job alerts and book interview slots;
  • On-line approval of vacancies;
  • Managers and panel members able to review and short-list all applications on-line and have full visibility of the status of their vacancies;
  • On-line search and selection from candidate pools (including a University-wide redeployment pool);
  • Streamlining of administrative processes around recruitment and selection;
  • Workflow, processes, e-mail templates and forms fully configurable by the University.

Work is now underway to develop, test and implement the new system and colleagues from across the University will be involved in this process. Go live for the new system (which has yet to be given a University of Bristol specific name) is scheduled for mid-August 2012. 

Once the system is in place and bedded in, phase two of the project will focus on issuing contracts of employment through the system and setting up an in-house temporary staffing pool.
