Generally, the Careers Service provides a wealth of information about finding a job, including specific details of career options for Historians and Art Historians.

On these subject specific pages, as well as relevant occupational profiles, you can look at the link Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DHLE) for statistics on what sort of jobs graduates go into. You can also link to employability statistics for the last 4 years for Bristol history / art history graduates, and this also gives an indication of the range of employers and occupations that our graduates joined. Details of opportunities to pursue postgraduate study are also provided.

The Careers Service  holds a number of careers events of interest to Historians and Art Historians. A lot of the occupational talks take place in the Autumn Term – e.g. careers in journalism, careers in law for non-law students, applying for a training contract for non-law students, careers in teaching, careers in the public sector, careers NOT in business ... and many, many more.

If you have missed a talk, they also have downloads on their website featuring presentations and podcasts from many of their events, so if you miss a talk, you can still access most of this material.
