Tim Cole's work on Holocaust Geographies at UCLA workshop

Cole and Giordano

Dr Cole with project collaborator Alberto Giordano, a GIScientist from Texas State, San Marcos

Tim Cole's interdisciplinary collaborative work on Holocaust Geographies has been chosen as one of a handful of recent representations of the Holocaust (key historiography, memorialization, film and literature from the past two decades) to be analyzed at a forthcoming workshop at UCLA from 21 to 23 April 2012.

Dr Cole is a leading member of the international Holocaust Geographies research group. Dr Cole, along with Anne Knowles, will respond to a critical paper analysing the team's published and forthcoming work [Knowles, Cole & Giordano (eds.), Geographies of the Holocaust (Indiana University Press, 2013 forthcoming)].

The UCLA workshop - 'History Unlimited: Probing the Ethics of Holocaust Culture' - is envisioned as a sequel to the groundbreaking volume Probing the Limits of Representation(Harvard University Press 1992) and celebrates the work of Saul Friedländer.
