1 March 2012
James Clark, Professor of History, will deliver his Inaugural Lecture on Friday, 23 March 2012 in the Reception Room of the Wills Memorial Building. The lecture, entitled 'The last monks of medieval England' will begin at 6pm.
Historical research has unsettled many long held reputations. Yet the legend of the last monks of medieval England, their high living and low morals which led to their dissolution under Henry VIII, has never been questioned. This lecture promises a fresh perspective on a major turning-point in our history.
A drinks reception will follow. All welcome.
