Robert Bickers has been awarded the grade 'Outstanding' by the AHRC's peer reviewers for the final report on his 2008/9 Research Leave award-funded project, 'Treaty port China and its legacies, 1842-1999'.
The main part of this project will be a book, The Scramble for China, which was completed as a result of the leave award. It has been contracted to Penguin for publication in spring 2011.
