2012

Lists of all Chinese Service-listed staff have been added. There are some 11,000 names listed. Site navigation menus have been improved.

A new page attempts to give as full a picture as possible of the location of individual station archives.

 

2011

The Willard Dickerman Straight papers have been placed online through Cornell University's eCommons. Some Robert Hart material is also available digitally through Queen's University Belfast Digital Collections.

Our catalogue of the Customs archive at Nanjing is now available for consultation.

 

2010

Scans of some published nineteenth and early-twentieth century business and residential directories have been uploaded. More will be added as we secure or locate them.

There is now a page of links to freely-available digitized publications of the Customs.

We have added a bibliography of new work by project members and associates, as well as other new work on the Customs.

We have placed online lists of all foreign Customs staff, generally arranged by nationality, with dates of service, and basic service details as they appear in the official Service List. You will also find here bibliographies of memoirs or biographies of staff that we are aware of.
