Previous Green Impact Awards winners

The University of Bristol celebrated its latest environmental achievements at the 2016 Green Impact Awards ceremony on 23 June 2016. Awards were given to both individuals and teams who have reduced their environmental impact or encouraged sustainable behaviours through practical projects and initiatives.

Martin Wiles, Head of Sustainability, said: “Congratulations to all our winners. Each year we are in awe of the range of initiatives developed by staff and students, helping us to reduce our environmental impact. Sustainability is a key part of our organisation’s strategy and the Green Impact scheme recognises and promotes sustainable behaviour of all our staff. We’re delighted to celebrate success with the latest winners”

The overall winner was Student Counselling Services, but they faced stiff composition from University teams including Print Services, External Estates and the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy.
Other winners included the School of Humanities as Best Newcomer, External Estates for Community Action and Associate Chaplain Yvonne Preece as the University’s Environmental Hero. The ceremony was a joint event held in Wills Memorial Building between the University, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust and North Bristol NHS Trust with over 70 staff teams represented. The University of Bristol wishes to thank our sponsors, First Bristol, Wessex Bristol Services, Shred-it, Bristol Waste and Water 2 Business.
