Before the Day

Attendance and guests

If you are eligible to attend the ceremony you should receive an invitation by email during the week commencing Monday 21 August 2017.  Please reply to this email by the deadline of Wednesday 20 September to guarantee your place at the ceremony, and if attending we can guarantee you places for up to three guests.  Please let us know in your reply how many guest tickets you require.

If you wish to invite more than three guests, we will register any extra guest requests over and above your guaranteed three on a waiting list and places will be released after the registration deadline: we will then email you with confirmation of your allocation of tickets.  You should let us know how many extra guests you would like to invite in your reply to the invitation email.

Please note that if we do not receive your reply by the deadline we may not be able to guarantee you a place at the ceremony.

Gown Hire

You will be required to wear the University of Bristol PGCE gown at the ceremony and this should be hired in advance from Ede & Ravenscroft, by Friday 6 October.  The advance gown hire cost is £45 online (via the link provided) or £50 by phone (via the call centre number on the Ede & Ravenscroft website).  Please note, you will not need to hire a hat or cap.

Access Requirements

If you or any of your guests have any health problems or disabilities that require additional support, e.g. restricted mobility, please email pgce-ceremony@bristol.ac.uk to let us know, as soon as possible.  This is essential, particularly if BSL interpretation or wheelchair access is required as we cannot guarantee arrangements if they are not requested in advance.

The Great Hall is fitted with a loop system.
