Abstract

This event seeks to understand and challenge the extent to which specific narratives on conflicts reflect the day-to-day reality of those living in a war zone.  We will first view and discuss how both documentary and fiction film representations of conflict from the African continent hold implications for local people and on lasting solutions for peace.  Then join our panel of experts in looking at how alternative portrayals can help us rethink current understandings of violence and security.
