Research Degrees (MPhil, MLitt and PhD)

The Department offers research supervision in a wide range of areas of French Studies, and welcomes enquiries from prospective research students. We also foster interdisciplinary research projects in collaboration with other departments. All research students are initially registered for the degree of either MPhil (one year full-time) or MLitt (two years full-time) both of which may then be upgraded to PhD.

As a research student in the Department, you will also be given the chance to teach undergraduates, and will be offered training leading to formal accreditation.
