4.2 Delegation

Budget holders or authorised managers must not delegate powers to authorise to more junior members of staff.  Non-budget holding staff should only be given powers of authorisation where there are clear line management responsibilities for a particular area.

Where there is delegation, departmental staff should be made thoroughly aware of who may sign expense claims and for whom.  The Finance Office maintains a list of authorised signatories.  Any changes should be notified promptly.
