Costing and Pricing Guidance Now Available
The purpose of this document (UoB access only) is to provide guidance to academic departments on the process of full economic costing (fEC), and subsequent pricing, of research and consultancy activities.
This document explains the reasons behind fEC, namely to help achieve overall sustainability of university activities, and sets out what an individual must do in preparing the financial aspects of a proposal, as well as providing guidance on subsequent negotiation with the funder.
The differences between various funding organisations are highlighted, and how best to approach fEC for each type of funder, be it Research Council, Government, industry, charity, EC or Overseas.
