International Year of Biodiversity

International Year of Biodiversity logo 2010 has been declared the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB) by the United Nations. The University of Bristol is a partner in IYB-UK, and is working with other Bristol-based organisations to highlight the vital importance of biodiversity and our leading research in this area.

The Bristol Natural History Consortium, of which UoB is a member, is supporting a national series of ‘bioblitzes’ – events where members of the public, amateur naturalists, school students and researchers come together to identify as many species as possible in a limited period of time.
