ACCEPT Pluralism launched
On November 29th the ACCEPT project ( details here) was officially launched at the Bristol Institute of Public Affairs. With the participation of representatives from civil society organisations, local councils, schools and the research community, the event proceeded with a lively discussion on issues of cultural diversity, equality and citizenship.
Professor Michael Keith and Professor Maleiha Malik commented on ACCEPT's framework. The project team, Professor Tariq Modood, Jan Dobbernack and Dr Nasar Meer, outlined future directions for the project, in particular in relation to cultural diversity in British education.
The introductory presentation at the launch event is available here (Office document, 2,220kB). A provisional outline of the upcoming research on diversity and education is available (pdf, 80kb) as is a new booklet (PDF, 1,710kB) outlining the overall project.
