The Government's White Paper 'The future of higher education' published in January 2003 set out a commitment to establish a new national body, Foundation Degree Forward (FDF) to support and promote the development and validation of high quality Foundation Degrees. Their website contains further useful information - www.fdf.ac.uk

The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) undertook a review on foundation degrees during 2003. An overview report is available. QAA have been commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to undertake a review of a sample of existing foundation degrees during 2004/5. They have developed a handbook for the review.
