Bologna Working Group
The Bologna Working Group was discontinued from the end of the 2007/08 academic year. Responsibility for monitoring developments in relation to the Bologna Process rests with the Working Group of Undergraduate Deans and the University Graduate Studies Committee.
Terms of Reference
The Bologna Working Group was established with the following terms of reference:
- To consider the Bologna Declaration in the light of Government directives and Universities UK guidance relating to Bologna and its implications for higher education in Britain
- To consider how the Bologna Declaration and subsequent developments will affect the University and the operation of degree programmes at Bristol
- To identify any opportunities or risks that the Bologna Process may offer the University
- To advise on the position of the 4-year undergraduate degree programmes leading to a Masters qualification, within the Bologna framework, including any compliance issues
- To consider the adoption of the Diploma Supplement in relation to transcripts and the adoption of ECTS credit system alongside (or instead of) the current credit system
- To promote awareness and disseminate information to staff and students to ensure they are adequately informed about the Bologna Process and any impact on the sector
- To advise Education Committee and senior management on the prioritisation of developments and issues arising from the Bologna Declaration.
- To communicate within and outside the University with other relevant groups and keep informed of their activities
