Subject Review

Until February 1995 the method used for Quality Assessment was to award one of three categories: Excellent, Satisfactory and Unsatisfactory. A substantial revision of the assessment method then took place and from 1995 assessment was made by grading a core set of aspects of teaching and learning on a scale of one to four (one = low, four = high). The maximum score was 24 points and it was considered that a score of 20 points and over indicated excellence of provision (as long as no more than two aspects have been awarded two points or less).

Subject Review has now been replaced by Institutional Audit, in which there is an element of review at the subject level through Discipline Audit Trails.
