The University has a process to ensure that any new or revised units or programmes are academically appropriate and sound, and that sufficient resource can and will be made available to ensure their successful delivery. To ensure this, all proposals to introduce or change units or programmes must be formally approved before being implemented. The Education Support Unit facilitates and supports this process.
We are available to provide advice to staff at an early stage of putting together a proposal, negotiating the approval process and using the online approval tool. Please email approval-help@bristol.ac.uk or your faculty liaison contact in the Education Support Unit in the first instance or use the links below to find out more about how to put a proposal forward.
To manage the approval process, the University has implemented an Online Approval Tool for editing or creating new units and programmes. Please see the link below for more information.
There are interim arrangements for the approval of new and revised units and programmes in place for 2011/12. A working group is establishing the process for 2112/13 and onwards.
