Staff Networks

Carers' Network

Caring for somebody who is elderly, disabled or ill can be very stressful and demanding.  It can sometimes help to talk to others who are in a similar situation.  For this reason, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team has established a Carers’ Network bringing together staff who are balancing work with caring for an ill, elderly, or disabled family member, friend or partner. This provides working carers with the opportunity to come together and share experiences.

Parents' Network

The University recognises the importance of supporting and retaining staff who go on maternity and paternity leave and also the ongoing impact that having children can have.

The Parents' Network has therefore been established to enable employees to support each other as they make the transition into parenthood. It provides an informal setting within which to discuss the various challenges that are presented as children grow up; talking to others who are in the same situation is often the most powerful form of support.

Disabled Staff Forum

This forum provides a network of mutual support and a collective voice for staff who self-identify as disabled at Bristol. Led by the members themselves, it provides a safe space where experiences can be shared in confidence. If you are interested in joining, please contact staff-disability-forum@bristol.ac.uk.
