Plastics

In 2009 Sustainability introduced plastic bottle recycling. The bottles are collected along with the cans in designated bins. These bins are located throughout the University, usually in communal areas such as cafeterias and staff kitchens.

If you would like to have a can and plastic bottle bin please contact Sustainability-estates@bristol.ac.uk

In January 2010 we expanded the range of plastics that can be recycled to include

Plastic type Examples
Drink bottles

Clean meal trays

Detergent bottles

Milk bottles

Washing up bottles

Bottle caps

Straws

Yogurt Pots

Margarine Tubs

It is currently not possible to recycle expanded Polystyrene****, flexible films or PVC
