Chartered Institute of Waste Management Training
The University of Bristol is a registered training centre for the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), Waste Awareness Certificate. This certificate is designed for employees especially those with a responsibility for waste management at the University.
The Waste Awareness Certificate helps to provide key staff with the knowledge, skills and understanding to improve the management of waste at the University while ensuring cost savings and legal compliance. This course is overseen by the Chartered Institute of Waste Management, the professional body for waste management professionals in the UK http://www.ciwm.co.uk/CIWM/CIWMHome.aspx and it is supported and recognised by a range of bodies including the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR), the Environment Agencies in England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland, and the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
