Ease of travel and access, with choices, are key aspects of any decision for a potential member of staff or student to come and work or study at the University of Bristol and will have daily impact on their time here.

The University of Bristol Staff Travel Plan (formally known as the Transport Plan)  was officially adopted in the autumn of 1999, primarily because of the problems the University experienced with parking, but also as a means of providing initiatives and incentives to aid sustainable travel.

A specific Student Travel Plan has also been prepared to aid sustainable travel to and within Bristol. The University is aware that the location of student accommodation is a very major influence on student choices.  Also to be close to study and the amenities that the University and city offer is important, therefore any lack of proximity must be compensated for by excellent travel choices.
