Monday 28th February training will run 1pm - 5:30pm
OR
Tuesday 1st March Training 9:30am - 2pm
Both at the Training Suite, Students Union.
What is Green Impact Auditor Training?
Firstly a bit on Green Impact
Green Impact is an environmental accreditation scheme. Interested staff volunteered to participate in the scheme and received a workbook outlining achievable environmental changes. All the criteria relate to practical actions, such as only using recycled copier paper, or putting awareness stickers next to light switches. Depending on the number of environmental actions departments carry out, they can achieve either: a working towards accreditation, Bronze, Silver or Gold. All departments participating in Green Impact will need an audit to verify their level of achievement…and this is where you come in.
How the Auditing process works
We are looking for volunteer auditors to visit the departments and conduct audits. Each volunteer auditor will be fully trained on the criteria and what they need to audit through a half-day of training on the dates above. Auditors will then complete one or more audits between 21st March and 1st April 2011. You will be able to choose the dates and number of audits you complete, although we do ask that all auditors commit to carrying out at least one audit. An audit should take between one and two hours to complete depending on the size of the department (we will work with you to find an appropriate date and time to do an audit).
What happens on the training day?
You will be taught all you need to know to complete a Green Impact audit of a department. The session will also include information on Environmental Management Systems (EMS) from the Waste & EMS Manager at the University of Bristol.
How do I Sign up?
Email emailing sustainability-estates@bristol.ac.uk stating which session you would like to attend. This includes a free lunch so please state any dietary requirements.
