Black Out Bristol

BLACK OUT BRISTOL 31/10/07 PLEASE HELP

[29 October 2007]

The University has been asked to take part in the forthcoming Blackout Bristol event on the 31st October.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness regarding climate change and to encourage organisations in Bristol to do something active to reduce carbon emissions.

In particular to make an extra effort to switch off unwanted equipment and lighting, especially at the end of the working day.

Of course the University's activity is 24 hour based and much lighting has a necessary security and health and safety need. That said there is always something that can be done and I would ask you to think about this and see what you can do on 31st to help reduce the University's carbon footprint.

We are keen to hear about what you have done or will do to reduce energy use on the 31st and would also like to know about any energy wastage you know is happening across the University. Please contact us
