Green Impact Sponsorship Oppourtunities for 2011/12

What is Green Impact?

Green Impact is a project within the University of Bristol which offers a practical way of helping departments become greener, whilst celebrating the small steps that individuals are taking to reduce our collective environmental impacts.

Piloted at the University of Bristol three years ago, the scheme now operates at around 35 other HE institutions across the country.  Green Impact challenges departments to implement a number of easy practical actions that will help the environment. The more actions completed by a department the more points are scored, leading to a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum award. The aim is to empower individuals and departments to reduce their environmental impact by encouraging, rewarding and celebrating practical environmental improvements.

Areas covered within the Green Impact criteria relate to a broad range of issues including energy, waste and recycling, transport, biodiversity and healthy living.  Over 60 departments within the University have taken part so far and the scheme has an increasingly high profile around the University.
